US Says Chinese Linked Hackers Attacked NASA, Senate, and Gov't Agencies The recent takedown of two Chinese linked hacking platforms by US authorities marks a significant escalation in the ongoing cyber espionage wars between Washington and Beijing.
The disruption of QScan and QTRouter, which had been used to compromise critical infrastructure and sensitive networks since at least 2018, highlights the growing threat of state sponsored hacking.
According to court documents, hackers had attempted to breach NASA's networks as far back as August 2019, with some success in September 2024 when they compromised three Department of Energy laboratories, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), a US security device manufacturer, and four unnamed companies in the US and South Korea.
