The incident is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), with reports suggesting that the aircraft, an Embraer ERJ 195, crashed into a nearby field.
The Embraer ERJ 195 is a widely used regional jet for short haul flights, typically carrying 108 passengers and four crew members. This particular plane was scheduled to carry around 100 people.
