A Daily Glass of Fruit Juice Linked to Lower Depression Scores The latest research from Newcastle University suggests that drinking a daily glass of 100% fruit juice or a smoothie can have a modest yet statistically significant impact on depression scores.

The study involved 42 participants who were provided with targeted support to increase their fruit and vegetable intake, either by meeting the recommended 5 a day target using whole fruits and vegetables alone or by incorporating one glass of fruit juice or a smoothie each day.

The results showed that those in the latter group not only met their dietary targets but also reported lower depression scores.
